Actor Boyd Holbrook is reportedly in talks to replace Benicio Del Toro as the star of director Shane Black’s Predator remake.
The Sicario actor was in negotiations to join the movie cast last month, but now has opted out of the running and Iron Man 3 filmmaker is now eyeing the Gone Girl actor.
Details surrounding the role have not been revealed, but if Boyd signs on he will reportedly join rapper 50 Cent in the movie. Black is also reportedly trying to recruit Arnold Schwarzenegger to return to the film franchise for his revamp.
Arnold Schwarzenegger famously starred in the original Predator with his trademark bulging biceps grossed $59m, the film released in 1987 which was directed by John McTiernan. The last movie in the franchise was 2010’s Predators, which featured Adrien Brody and Laurence Fishburne.
Black’s new film is slated to hit cinemas in 2018.
The news comes a day after it was revealed Holbrook is reportedly playing cyborg villain Donald Pierce in the latest Wolverine X-Men spin-off Logan. A picture of Holbrook sitting in a car has been released on the movie’s official Instagram page, alongside the caption: “Pierce”.
Logan, which also stars Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart, is due to hit UK cinemas next year.
