Christopher McQuarrie tweeted out a confirmation that Ving Rhames will be returning to play Luther Stickell in Mission: Impossible 5 alongside Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise returns as Ethan Hunt, Simon Pegg returning as tech guru Benji Dunn and Jeremy Renner reprising his role as William Brandt from Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.

The post did not mention Rebecca Ferguson who’s assumed to be taking on the lead female role in this film or Alec Baldwin who’s also rumored to be playing a high-ranking CIA officer overseeing Hunt’s division, similar to the role played by Laurence Fishburne in Mission: Impossible III.

The movie is in pre-production and filming is expected to begin soon for a December 25th 2015 release and as for Rhames’ return, I hope it’s more than just the cameo role he played in Ghost Protocol, I like having him around in this franchise. More please.
