After about 2 years of not having the chance to experience Coachella due to the pandemic, it looks like this year the music festival is pulling out all the stops for one of the best comebacks ever! We’re sure you’ve seen the headliners for this year’s Coachella, and a whole lot of hard-hitting performers hitting the stage.
For more information on the music festival, you could check out Coachella’s website or visit here to prepare yourself.
With that said, you might want to brush up on your lyrics and skills for what could be the best music festival of your life. To lend a helping hand, we’ve decided to list out some of the best albums you need to listen to for the upcoming performances at Coachella. Let’s go!
- Fine Line – Harry Styles
We all know and love Harry Styles as he continues to be an icon and legend in so many aspects, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise. Harry is one of the major headliners of Coachella this year, and about time too! Time to scream all the words to his Fine Line album as he struts his stuff across the stage.
Of course, he could bring out more hits from his self titled album into play as well like ‘Sign of The Times’ and ‘Sweet Creature’, so you might want to give those a listen if you have time to spare. Most importantly, ‘Watermelon Sugar’, ‘Falling’, ‘Adore You’ and ‘Golden’ are definitely making an appearance as some of his biggest hits.
- Happier Than Ever – Billie Eilish
Billie’s change of style and taste as she reinvents herself into who she is today is nothing short of amazing. As one of the headliners for this year’s Coachella, her performance is not one you should miss out on! Naturally, she’ll be singing some hits from her Happier Than Ever album, and probably some of her previous hits like ‘bad guy’ and ‘Therefore I Am’.
We’re excited to see how she’ll perform and what sort of spin she’ll bring to her past songs as she’s grown from them. Either way, make sure to have ‘Happier Than Ever’ memorised and ready to go!
- Donda – Ye (Kanye West)
Donda had a ton of rap and hip hop music lovers torn between love and hate, but it doesn’t change the fact that Ye will be headlining Coachella while playing some hits from the album itself. Donda does toe the line between religious Gospel music and progressive rap, which is not for everybody.
Either way, you’ll want to at least be ready to belt out ‘Praise God’ and ‘Hurricane’, and perhaps songs from his previous albums The Life of Pablo and Kids See Ghosts. Also, Ye is Kanye West, if that hasn’t registered in your mind yet. He officially changed his name back in October of 2021!
- Planet Her – Doja Cat
A plus one for the girl bosses and those embracing their feminine energy, Doja Cat is a part of 2022’s Coachella! We’ll finally get to see more of Planet Her live and most definitely some TikTok hits like ‘Say So’ and ‘Kiss Me More’. Can’t wait to see the crowd sing along to those two hits, accompanied perhaps by their own viral dances.
We’re definitely looking forward to watching Doja Cat as part of Coachella, her energy is simply unmatched. Girlies, get ready to dance and sing along to some of the best fem pop music out there!
- Case Study 01 – Daniel Caesar
For those of you who are here to vibe and will want to simply chill when you attend Coachella as a break from all the other hyped artists on this list, you could remedy yourself with some Daniel Caesar. Naturally, he’s probably going to play some of his other hit songs like ‘Get You’ and ‘Best Part’ featuring his collaborations with other stellar artists.
Case Study 01 didnt really make a dent in the internet, but he’s definitely going to be playing some songs from the album. It’s a sensual and vibey album, to say the least, and really gives an insight into his current stature with life and love.
- Nectar – Joji
If you’re leaning more towards alternative R&B, or is generally an edgy sad person, you would have a spot in this year’s Coachella as well. Joji is making an appearance, and his singles from the Nectar album like ‘Sanctuary’, ‘Run’ and ‘Gimme Love’ are definitely going to be played for the festival.
His past hits like ‘Slow Dancing In The Dark’ and ‘Yeah Right’ will definitely be a vibe to experience live. Just imagine a whole crowd singing along, everyone swaying and feeling the same songs and emotions.
- When It’s All Said And Done… Take Time – Giveon
Sort of like a compiled version of his two previous EPs, When It’s All Said And Done… Take Time is filled with some pretty emotional bangers that will get you crying and singing along. This one is for all my sad people out there who love some indie R&B to tide them over.
It’s pretty cool to see Giveon rise to the top and have a chance to be a part of Coachella this year. We’re just prepared to be graced by his TikTok hit ‘Heartbreak Anniversary’ and latest single ‘For Tonight’ amongst others.
- Day After Tomorrow – Phoebe Bridgers
Having Phoebe Bridgers as one of the top performers of Coachella feels like a win for the indie fans. Her album Day After Tomorrow headed by the single of the same name which happens to be her version of Tom Waits’ song is a melancholic song designed to make you feel a sort of longing.
Either way, we’re expecting some of her other hits to be sung like ‘Kyoto’, ‘Garden Song; and ‘Savior Complex’ during the festival as well. We’re excited to see more and more indie artists make their mark in the industry and join the Coachella roster.
- Never Enough – Disclosure
It won’t be a proper music festival without some dance or electro music in the mix, now would it? That’s where Disclosure comes in with their latest album Never Enough. We’re looking forward to experiencing this pair of brothers in action as they try to bring the house down during Coachella.
Some of their top songs that would probably be played during the festival would be ‘Know Your Worth’, ‘Latch’ and ‘You and Me’. Get ready to get hyped and scream along as the beat fills the air!
- Singles by Swedish House Mafia
Since Swedish House Mafia has decided to make a comeback during Coachella, it would be a great time to listen to their past singles once again like its 2012. They’re probably going to play some more recent releases like their collab with The Weeknd or their latest single ‘One Symphony’.
But the one song that gets everyone going will forever be ‘Don’t You Worry Child’ which is an absolute guarantee to be played during the music festival. They just have to play it, it’s a crime if they don’t. That and ‘Save The World’ are must plays!
To Conclude
These are just a short list of the set performers who are going to be playing at Coachella this year, there’s a whole lot more on the roster! You might want to check that out to figure out whose performance you’re going to be looking forward to the most, here’s a list!
