2014 was a year for boybands, new talent and when stars incluing Ed Sheeran, George Ezra, Taylor Swift, Sam Smith, Royal Blood made it massive!
See below as to which artists have music planned for 2015.
1. Rihanna: TBC
Not having released a new album in 2 years, Rihanna will be back next year! There has been plenty of so-called inside information floating around, but truth is, none of us have a clue what to expect next and when we’ll get to hear it. It has pushed the anticipation up to fever pitch. Will Rihanna come back with a massive pop anthem, or will she continue with the more spiky R&B we had on Unapologetic? Hopefully 2015 is the year we will all find out.
2. Madonna: Rebel Heart
Despite the leak, she has some massive tracks waiting to be released. If there’s one thing we’ve enjoyed throughout 2014, it’s Madonna’s ridiculous Instagram account. Fans who follow the Queen of Pop will know that she has been working hard all year on her 13th studio album Rebel Heart, while also coming up with any number of amazing hashtags (personal highlight: #cantabitchjustfinishhers**t). Despite the illegal leak of 13 unfinished tracks earlier this month (and subsequent official release of 6 tracks), we are still eager to hear the final, polished product when it comes out in March. If ‘Ghosttown’ and ‘Living For Love’ are anything to go by, we’re expecting it to be Madonna’s best new album in years.
3. Little Mix: TBC
Come on you mixers! After 2013’s extremely good album Salute, we are more than intrigued to see where X Factor‘s biggest girl group Little Mix go next. Their lead singles are always slightly left-of-centre and considering we know they’ve been in the studio with the likes of MNEK, Becky Hill and Jess Glynne, our anticipation couldn’t be more palpable.
4. Kanye West: TBC
The rumours surrounding Kanye West’s seventh album have been almost as outrageous as the man himself. From Seth Rogen claiming West rapped the album in its entirety to him in the back of a limo, to collaborator Malik Yusef comparing the LP to a pair of Timberlands. Rick Rubin and Q-Tip are producing the anticipated follow-up to Yeezus, with West claiming he’d like to have the album out by Summer 2015.
5. NE-YO
6. Adele: TBC
After sitting very tight for Adele’s third studio album for the whole of 2014, the world is now pinning its hopes on an imminent release in 2015. The British songstress has kept firmly out of the spotlight while working on the album, but collaborator Ryan Tedder has been giving us brief teasers with the latest update being: “I know that with the amount of insanely good songs she has to pick from – ’cause I’ve heard most of ’em – this album’s gonna be crazy.” Oh, and it’s expected to be titled 25.
7. Room 94
Having supported these girls since the very beginning, we’re very excited about this release!
Kieran Lemon, Dean Lemon, Sean Lemon, Kit Tanton we love you!
8. Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams
The band’s seventh album could be somewhat of a bittersweet moment for fans. While they’ll no doubt be relishing in new music from Coldplay that they’ll be able to “shuffle your feet” to after the sombre Ghost Stories, Chris Martin has also alluded that it could be their final record.
9. Meghan Trainor
It’s all about that bass!
10. Justin Bieber
No intro needed!!
11. Mark Feehily
He’s taken his time, but my word will it be worth thw wait!!
12. Fifth Harmony
These ladies are the BO$$
13. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds: Chasing Yesterday
It may be the 20th anniversary of Oasis’s defining album (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? in 2015, but come March 2, all eyes (and ears) will be firmly on the release of Noel Gallagher’s second studio album. His first outing was a post-Oasis triumph and saw him sell out arenas, but Chasing Yesterday marks the first time he has written and produced a whole album by himself. “I had all these people looking at me and saying, ‘Right, what are we doing today?'” he said of the process. “I was making the whole thing up as I went along.”
14. Marina and the Diamonds: Froot
Marina and the Diamonds announced news of her first new album in three years back in October. Froot has been produced by David Kosten (Everything Everything, Bat For Lashes) and is slated for release on April 6. The LP’s title track, as well as new song ‘Happy’, have already been unveiled, with Marina Diamandis saying of the album: “This is the start of a new musical and visual era for me.”
15. Mark Ronson: Uptown Special
“I always find myself coming back to that music I would play out in hip-hop clubs in New York in the late ’90s/early 2000s,” Ronson said of the inspiration behind his impending fourth album Uptown Special. A release date of January 26 means we don’t have too long to wait until we get to hear the full release, which is set to feature the likes of Stevie Wonder, Bruno Mars (who gave Mark his first UK chart-topper with lead single ‘Uptown Funk’) and Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker.
16. Muse: TBC
Muse have promised that album number 7 will see them “veer back towards just musicianship” and away from the experimentalism of their last album. The band are working with Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange (AC/DC, Def Leppard, Maroon 5) and have referenced “deep ecology, the empathy gap and World War 3” as inspiration. “It’s probably going to be a bit of a rawer album and a bit more rock,” Matt Bellamy has said of the LP, which is due for release in the summer.
17. Florence + the Machine: TBC
We know very little about Florence + the Machine’s third studio album, but with a number of festival appearances recently confirmed, we can only presume we’ll be hearing it in 2015. We do know that Florence Welch started working on the project in June earlier this year, saying at the time: “I am actually really excited. I sort of forgot how much of yourself you have to give to a record and how the beginning process of it is so hard. So when actually you’ve come through that process a bit and you can kind of see a clearer picture, you’re like, ‘Oh now I get it’. It’s coming through to that other side now, and it feels good.”
18. Leona Lewis: TBC
The 2006 X Factor champ made a shock move earlier this year, deciding to leave Simon Cowell’s Syco label at Sony and sign up with rival Universal imprint Island. However, judging by the short snippet of a new song Leona shared with fans earlier this month, it’s a decision that could see her thrust firmly back into the international spotlight. “I’ve got fire under my feet,” she felts over some suspiciously Ryan Tedder-esque stomps and a pounding piano. She is clearly warmed up and ready to go – and quite frankly, we can’t wait.
19. Britney Spears: TBC
With the chart disaster that was Britney Jean hanging over her, we’re hopeful Britney Spears can bounce back stronger than ever with album number nine. Iggy Azalea – who features on the US star’s upcoming new single – has already claimed it is “undeniably great”, and with Spears wowing week after week in Vegas, we’re praying some of that club atmosphere, showgirl sparkle and constant reminder of her incredible back catalogue of hits has influenced the songwriting process. What’s more, with Britney lending her vocals to Giorgio Moroder’s new album, we wouldn’t be averse to the idea of the legendary producer helping out with hers.
20. Miley Cyrus
