Rock band Queen and singer Adam Lambert will perform live at the Isle of Wight Festival this weekend where guitarist Brian May has revealed that they can’t wait for the challenge.
May revealed that they will embrace the opportunity with open arms and plan to “tear it up” at the summer music event:
“I think Queen at The Isle of Wight Festival is a date that was long overdue. How incredible to take on this challenge at this point in our lives. With an injection of new blood in the shape of the incredible Adam Lambert, Queen will be ready to tear it up on this legendary stage in 2016. Freddie would have loved it. Can’t wait.” He told DS.
Adam Lambert added: “I’m so excited to be a part of The Isle of Wight Festival and share the stage once again with the Queen family. I adore making music with Roger and Brian, and am thrilled to help continue their legacy into 2016. It is true I have large shoes to fill so I’m urgently planning on searching for a new pair of boots (or 5) to wear for the set.”
MarkMeets Showbiz can reveal that Adam Lambert has said that he’d be up for recording new songs with Queen.
Earlier this week Isle of Wight promoter, John Giddings, booked Queen and Adam Lambert after seeing them on television: “With Adam Lambert, he’s one of the few people in the world that can hit those high notes that Freddie did, and he pays tribute to him.”
Giddings added: “One of the reasons why I booked them, was because I saw them last New Year’s eve on television and I thought how good they still are, I know what it’s going to be like when I see 50,000 people singing along.”
