Adele’s latest record could be about to become the fastest selling album ever in the UK.
The singer released ’25’ on November 20 and it has been selling by the bucketload.
Only two albums have ever sold more than 500,000 copies in a week.
Take That’s Progress notched up 518,601 sales in November 2010, and Oasis’s Be Here Now, is the record holder with 695,761 in its first chart week in August 1997.
Adele’s last album – 2011’s ’21’ – only sold 208,000 copies in its first week.
At No.2 on the midweek update is Elvis’ ‘If I Can Dream’, while Justin Bieber’s ‘Purpose’ follows at No.3.
The top five is rounded off by Enya’s new entry ‘Dark Sky Island’ and One Direction’s ‘Made in the A.M.’ respectively.
Take That’s new version of 2014’s ‘III’ is in at No.6, while Olly Murs’ ‘Never Been Better’ repackage is No.10.
Newton Faulkner meanwhile is a new entry at No.26 with ‘Human Love’.
British songstress Adele’s new album ’25’ has already sold 2.3million copies in the U.S. in just three days and 600,000 copies in the UK.
The current record holder is boy band ‘Nsync’s 2000 album ‘No Strings Attached’ which sold 2.4million copies in their first week.
