Bruno Mars plans for freezing Super Bowl performance

Bruno Mars is planning to get ”heaters on everything” when he performs at the Super Bowl this weekend.

The ‘Locked Out of Heaven’ singer will sing at the Half Time Show during the Denver Broncos vs Seattle Seahawks game on Sunday (02.02.14) and is already preparing for performing in the chilly New Jersey outdoors.

Asked if there will be any surprises in his set, he replied: ”It’s cold, that’s the surprise. It’s like the microphone turns into a Popsicle. We’re getting some heaters on everything.”

One thing sure to warm up Bruno’s set will be a guest appearance by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who he picked to appear because they have ”soul”.

He said: ”They’re a soulful band, not just musically, but as people.”

Bruno – who is half Puerto Rican and grew up in Hawaii – also gave his advice to budding young stars hoping to find themselves in a similar position to him in years to come.

He said: ”Don’t let anyone ever try to stop you. That’s what I had to face when I moved up to California. Nobody knew what nationality I was and that was such a big deal I guess in the music industry, that we don’t know who to sell these records [to] or what radio stations [should play them], and a lot of people were trying to tell me, ‘You’re too unorthodox’. If you got your head on straight and focus on what you do and practice your craft, then you have nowhere else to go but up.”
