Camila Cabello new focus is working on friendships

Camila Cabello is focused on “friendships” after splitting from Shawn Mendes.

The 25-year-old pop star dated Shawn Mendez for two years before they announced their split in November, and Camila suggested she’s not looking for another romance for the time being.

The brunette beauty – who shot to fame as part of Fifth Harmony – admitted “This is my first time being single in my 20s.

“That’s not even what I’m looking forward to right now, I think right now it’s about girlfriends … I feel like my focus is on my friendships right now and just growing as a person.”

Shawn and the ‘Havana’ hitmaker confirmed their break-up via a joint statement last year.

“Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever. [heart emoji]

“We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward [heart emojis] Camila and Shawn (sic)”

Shawn previously admitted that he enjoyed being in lockdown with the chart-topping singer.

“I spent most of the pandemic in Miami with Camila and her family, it was lovely, honestly incredibly special,” he said of their lockdown experience.

I often go back to look at images and remember how simple life was at the time; we were fortunate.
Riding motorcycles was a lot of fun.

“I hadn’t joyfully ridden my bike around a neighbourhood since I was 12 before that. We were making dinner, just doing normal things. The Latin culture is also just so beautiful, so being able to immerse myself in that culture is always really healing.”

Meanwhile Camila Cabello and Ed Sheeran release music video for new single, ‘Bam Bam’. MarkMeets Music can reveal that the track will appear on Cabello’s new album “Familia,” out April 8.
Over an upbeat, Latin-inspired melody, Cabello sings about life and growth after a breakup, with lyrics that seemingly reference her prior relationship with Shawn Mendes, from whom she split late last year.

“You said you hated the ocean / but you’re surfin’ now / I said I’d love you for life / but I just sold our house,” the song begins. “We were kids at the start / I guess we’re grown-ups now / Couldn’t ever imagine even havin’ doubts / But not everything works out, no.”

“Bam Bam” is the latest collaboration from Cabello and Sheeran, who previously teamed up on the English singer-songwriter’s 2019 track “South of the Border,” which also featured Cardi B. Cabello teased the release recently on TikTok.
