Country songstress Carrie Underwood has revealed that the creative session that gave birth to her new song was really free-flowing and ‘just kind of happened’.

During a new interview about her new single ‘Something In The Water’, the beauty admitted that the songwriting process was very organic and natural:

“You never know what’s gonna happen when you walk into a writing session. It’s not like I said, ‘Oh, I want to write a spiritual song today.’ It just kind of happened, and I love that.”

“Something in the Water,” which Underwood co-wrote with Chris DeStefano and Brett James, is a new track off the Oklahoma native’s upcoming Greatest Hits: Decade #1 album. It’s a “joyous, uplifting song about changing your life for the better and waking up and having that a-ha moment and your life being different from that moment forward,” the singer explained last week on NBC’s Today show. Similar to “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” the new song is about turning to God in troubled times.

“I followed that preacher man down to the river/And now I’m changed/And now I’m stronger/There must’ve been something in the water,” Underwood sings in the soaring song that showcases her heavenly high vocal range. (Listen above.)

She also opened up about her exciting pregnancy news and confessed that she feels lucky because she hasn’t endured any unfortunate symptoms as of yet: “I feel really good. I think I’ve been really lucky in my symptoms thus far.”

Now that Carrie Underwood is pregnant, everyone — including the singer — is wondering if a handsome country crooner or tiny songstress will appear in Spring 2015. Underwood admits she’s hoping for a baby girl.

Earlier this week, Carrie talked about being on her way to becoming a mother and admitted that it hasn’t really sunk in yet: “It’s still kinda weird, to be honest. Sometimes I’ll be with my husband, and it’s like, I’m gonna be a mom. You’re gonna be a dad. Is this real life? But we’re really excited.”

Greatest Hits: Decade #1 will also include Underwood’s 18 Number One singles from her decade-long career. It is set to hit stores December 9th.
