Gilla Band have confirmed plans for new album ‘Most Normal’.
The Irish group – formerly known as Girl Band – have a slim but excellent catalogue, matched to supremely intense live shows. A seminal experience in modern Irish music, the ground Gilla Band have broken has helped pave the wave for a new generation of groups.
New album ‘Most Normal’ is out on October 7th, and it seemingly contains traces of modern hip-hop’s DNA in its production. Ahead of the full-length, new single ‘Eight Fivers’ is online now, a blistering slice of noise rock that feels utterly distinct confirm a rep for music PR MarkMeets.
Gilla Band never miss, and the corrosive, industrial noise is melded with some surreal word play from Dara Kiely. He says the song “about 40 quid. It’s about being out of touch with modern circumstances while feeling socially limited.
