How to Download Songs from Spotify for Offline Listening
Spotify Premium offers a fantastic feature that allows users to download their favorite songs, playlists, and podcasts, enabling seamless offline listening. Whether you’re embarking on a long airplane journey or heading to an area with unreliable internet connectivity, having a downloaded soundtrack can ensure you enjoy uninterrupted music.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to download songs from Spotify for offline playback, making the most of your Premium subscription:
Step 1: Access Spotify Premium First, ensure you have a Spotify Premium account, which currently costs $9.99/month. Open the Spotify app on your smartphone or laptop and log in to your Premium account.
Step 2: Find Your Desired Songs or Albums Next, search for the album or specific song you wish to download. Once you’ve located it, click on it to open the track’s page.
Step 3: Add Songs to a Playlist As Spotify doesn’t directly allow users to download individual songs from playlists, we’ll use a simple workaround. Click on the three dots located on the top right corner of the screen and select “+ Add to playlist.”
Step 4: Create a New Playlist A dropdown menu will appear, presenting you with a list of your existing playlists. To create a new playlist containing all the tracks you want to download, choose “New Playlist” and give it a name. Once the playlist is created, add all the songs you wish to download to it.
Step 5: Download Your Playlist Return to the app’s main screen, and in the lower right corner, click on “Your Library.” Locate and select the newly created playlist containing the songs you want to download. Then, look for the download button—an arrow pointing downward enclosed in a circle—and tap it. Spotify will begin downloading the entire playlist, making the songs available for offline listening.
Downloading Entire Albums and Podcasts If you want to download an entire album instead of individual songs, there’s no need to create a separate playlist. Simply go to the album page and click on the download button located beneath the album cover.
The same process applies to podcasts. When you discover a podcast episode you’d like to listen to offline, just click on the download button beside the episode, and it will be ready for offline playback.
Now you’re all set to enjoy your favorite music and podcasts even when you’re without an internet connection. Remember, downloaded songs and content can take up storage space on your device, so be mindful of your available storage capacity. As long as you maintain your Spotify Premium subscription, you can keep enjoying offline access to your music library and personalized playlists. Happy listening!
