Lauryn Hill gig review

Known as The Fugees front woman and for her seminal and only 1980s album “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” despite not touring in over a decade, tickets sold out fast, and venues were packed.

New dates were added in new cities, and expectations were high.

As the first concerts took place, reviews were damning, with no one getting what they expected after they had most likely dusted off their old CD’s practicing for the sing along they were looking forward to at the concert.

However this is not what was delivered. In an almost tease Ms Hill’s entrance to stage was preluded with the very songs (played by the DJ) that people were expecting, but once on stage, the songs were remixed sometimes beyond recognition. However, some of us still enjoyed every minute of it.

After 6 children and a mulitude of problems well documented publically, Lauryn looked like she had not long stepped off the cover of the said 1988 album, her voice also sounded no different to what we came to expect and for us, some of the remixes really worked.

Nicole Scherzinger and will.i.am know how to schmooze with the stars and were spotted hanging out with Lauryn Hill after watching her intimate London performance.

Standing apart from many of the other reviews we would give this a 4 out of 5 stars.
