The ‘Bleeding Love’ singer Leona Lewis says her next album will be Motown-inspired.
Hackney born star Leona is gearing up to make a new record and she says she was heavily influenced by the Motown themes on her new Christmas album, ‘Christmas, with Love’.
”This year, after the third record, I really wanted to get into a different headspace which is why I did the movie [‘Holiday’] and went into ’80s mode and then I went into Motown mode on the [Christmas] album. I’ve been so re-inspired. I’d love to try some more Motown, soul kind of sounds, something very authentic.”
The 28-year-old star also revealed she is eager for a collaboration with ‘When I Was Your Man’ crooner Bruno Mars for the new album, as well as production trio The Smeezingtons – the group Bruno is part of with Ari Levine and Philip Lawrence.
She said: ”I’d love to work with The Smeezingtons, I’d really love to work with Bruno Mars at some point. I want to see where I feel like I want to go next but that’ll be in the New Year.”
Leona’s album ‘Christmas, with Love’ is out now.
