Louisa Johnson positive about new music under new record label

X Factor winner Louisa Johnson has left Simon Cowell’s record label but it’s not all bad news.

Johnson became X Factor’s youngest ever winner aged 17 in 2015 and has been signed onto the Syco Music record label for the past 3 years.

The 20-year-old revealed her departure from Syco Music was a “mutual decision”.

She wrote: “I’ve been working super hard and I just wanted to let you know that Syco Music and I have decided not to work together moving forward. It was genuinely a mutual decision and there are no hard fellings”.

She added “Big thank you to Syco for everything they’ve done for me”.

“I’ve had an actual blast! It’s been so much fun and I’ll always be grateful to Simon and the team for all their support.”

She enjoyed three top 20 hits in the year following her victory but her most recent releases have struggled.

Her 2018 release, Yes featuring 2 Chainz, reached 65 in the chart.

Johnson joins a list of stars including Sam Bailey, Ben Haenow, Alexandra Burke and Matt Cardle to part ways with Syco Music. James Arthur, Rebecca Ferguson, Olly Murs and Little Mix remain on the Syco label.

Louisa will release a new single on Sony’s Ministry Of Sound record label next month revealing : “You’re gonna love this one guys.”
