Having already played at Glastonbury, The Isle Of Wight Festival and recorded at the famous Maida Vale studios (BBC Introducing), Louise has established herself amongst a variety of acclaimed producers and DJ’s and her strong fan following continues to grow.
She’s developed a solid reputation within the UK soul scene performing extensively across London and beyond and performing regularly at many legendary venues such as Ronnie Scotts, The Hippodrome and The Jazz Cafe as well as gigs abroad in France (Musique Cordiale festival) and Hamburg.
She has worked on tracks with Example and The Newham Generals (signed to Dizzie Rascal’s Dirtee Stank label) and has supported and shared the stage with a number of acclaimed artists including Jessie J, Paloma Faith, Katy B, Ryan Keen, Mr Hudson, Lianne La Havas, Omar, Anthony David, Alexander O’Neal, The Drifters, Loose Ends, Roy Ayers, Mitch Winehouse (in aid of The Amy Winehouse Foundation) and Ed Sheeran (who appears in one of Louise’s music videos and even mentions her in his ‘thank yous’ on his first album ‘+’).
One of her biggest gigs to date was opening for the legendary George Benson at Kenwood House Picnic Concert in front of 6,000 people and she supported The Stylistics on their sold out UK tour which included Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, The Brighton Centre and Indig02 (in London’s 02 Arena). She has also opened for both Roberta Flack and most recently En Vogue at The Indigo2.
Her tracks are played regularly by various DJ’s on BBC radio stations Radio 1, 1Xtra, 6Music and BBC London and she is a firm favourite on Jazz FM, Mi-Soul and Capital Xtra. She also was a guest on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme to talk about music streaming recently and she has appeared on London Live TV channel for performances and interviews.
Clare Balding played Louise’s song Family Tree on her Radio 2 show recently too.
She works with a wealth of different producers including Mercury Music Prize nominee Drew Horley (De La Soul, Estelle, Roots Manuva, TY & Natalie Williams) and features on Nick Doe‘s soulful house version of ‘He Loves Me’, a Jill Scott cover which is out on the Restless Soul label and reached No. 1 in the Soulful House Charts.
Her first full album ‘Novel’ is out now and includes a track with UK Soul legend Omar, one with Mo Pleasure (MJ, Earth Wind & Fire) and a track produced by Aamir Yaqub who won a Grammy for his work on the latest Rihanna album at Metropolis Studios.)

Louise is Caffe Nero Artist Of The Month in November.
Her tracks are available on iTunes / Amazon / Google Play & more and her music videos and live footage are on her YouTube channel ‘Golbey1’.
Her music video ‘How It Is’ (which she also recorded in French) was nominated in the UK Music Video Awards. The track is featuring on Soul Lounge 11 (Dome Records) compilation album this year too. And her track ‘No Pretence’ features on the soundtrack of the feature film Hard Time Bus (which won best feature in The Hollywood Black film Festival 2013)
It is not often that you get the chance to witness the emergence of a complete artist and that is exactly what the Soul scene has acquired in the form of Louise Golbey.
