There are many different types of music genres, and the specific genres that are considered popular or relevant can vary widely depending on time and place. Some common music genres include:
- Rock: A genre of popular music that typically features distorted electric guitars, a strong back beat, and lyrics that deal with themes of rebellion, love, and/or social issues.

- Reggae: A genre of music that originated in Jamaica and is characterized by a laid-back, groovy beat, the use of the guitar and/or keyboard, and lyrics that deal with themes of love, social issues, and spirituality.
