Five of Chris Eubank Jr’s best career wins

Chris Eubank Jr and his old rival Conor Benn are set to clash in a much-anticipated all-British bout at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 26.

While Eubank Jr won the vacant IBO middleweight title with a victory over Kamil Szeremeta in Saudi Arabia last year, his belt won’t be on the line against Benn.

However, there is still a lot at stake for the pair, with this fight years in the making following a postponement in 2022 and the bad blood between the boxers dating back much further.

As the favourite in the Eubank vs Benn odds, let’s take a look at five of the 35-year-old’s standout career wins.

  1. Kamil Szeremeta (October 2024)

Returning to the ring for the first time in over a year, Eubank Jr claimed the vacant IBO middleweight title with a dominant victory over Szeremeta in the Middle East.

‘Next Gen’ dropped his Polish opponent three times as he controlled proceedings before ultimately putting the bout to bed when he sent Szeremeta to the canvas for the fourth time in round seven.

It was a convincing win for Eubank under his new coach, Jonathon Banks, and being out of the ring for 13 months—setting him up nicely for the Benn fight.

  1. Liam Smith (September 2023)

2023 couldn’t have gotten off to a worse start for Eubank Jr, as he was stunned by Liam Smith in a grudge match at the Manchester Arena in January.

The Scouser came out firing, knocking Eubank Jr to the canvas twice and ending the fight within four rounds—forcing Next Gen to trigger the rematch clause in a bid for redemption.

The pair clashed again in September, with Eubank Jr putting the record straight with a 10th-round TKO after knocking Smith down twice previously.

  1. James DeGale (February 2019)

One of Eubank Jr’s biggest career scalps came in February 2019, when he edged former two-time world champion James DeGale on points at the O2 Arena in London.

The 2008 Olympic gold medallist looked well past his best as Eubank Jr stamped his authority on the fight, scoring a second-round knockdown and threatening to end the bout in the latter rounds.

In the end, it was a comfortable unanimous decision win—with the judges scoring 114-112, 115-112 and 117-109, factoring in a points deduction for Eubank Jr.

Next Gen took home the vacant IBO super-middleweight title, while DeGale retired following a bout that shocked the boxing betting markets.

  1. Avni Yildirim (October 2017)

Having won the IBO super-middleweight championship with a victory over Renold Quinlan earlier in the year, Eubank Jr successfully retained his belt with an early stoppage against Avni Yildirim.

Clashing in the quarter-finals of the World Boxing Super Series for their respective division in Stuttgart, Eubank Jr won the bout in sensational fashion with a devastating left hook in the third.

Next Gen took home the vacant IBO super-middleweight title, while DeGale retired following a bout that shocked the boxing betting markets.

  1. Renold Quinlan (February 2017)

Speaking of Quinlan, Eubank Jr’s hard-fought victory over the Australian wraps up our list of his best career triumphs.

Making his debut at super-middleweight, many thought this would be a walk in the park for the then-27-year-old at the London Olympia. Quinlan ultimately proved much tougher than expected, but Eubank Jr finally made a breakthrough when stopping the fight in the 10th round for the IBO super-middleweight title.
