London Movie Events and Premieres in 2025

It’s that time of the year, again, when we check the upcoming movies and plan the premieres to attend. We still have almost an entire year ahead of us, so there’s still plenty of red carpet emotions to experience. In this regard, London, as always, has a lot to offer. Whether it’s about blockbusters or hidden gems among new indie movies – red carpet events in London may offer something to everyone.

As the industry is experiencing quite a rebirth of new ideas and experimental moves – with titles like Everything Every All at Once, Poor Things, The Substance, among many others, quickly becoming fan favourites – there should be a lot to expect in 2025 as well.

And as our list shows – it is, indeed. We keep it short, we keep it different, so there’s more room for you to decide on your favourites.

16 May – Final Destination: Bloodlines

While it’s probably not among the most discussed London film premieres in 2025, it’s certainly awaited by fans of the series. And as the popularity of a trailer shows, it is likely to reach box office success. Thus, its London premier may be on your list to attend.

09 June – How to Train Your Dragon

This live-action remake of a highly acclaimed animated film is not your typical premiere either, but it may actually offer something exciting. You’ll have the opportunity to meet the creators behind one of the year’s most anticipated animated features.

13 June – Materialists

This one’s not about materialists chasing more money and playing at online casinos. Though, they might make use of a casino verification Revolut guide, should they choose to gamble online using that platform, after all. The new movie shot by Past Lives’ director, Celine Song, is about dating, matchmaking, love triangles, and exes. And we can expect such celebrities as Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans, and Pedro Pascal at London film screenings.

23 June – F1

Another one on our list of London film premieres is a long-awaited film by Joseph Kosinski about the king of motorsports. And, in case somebody doesn’t know, we can expect Brad Pitt himself attending a London premiere, as this is him who’s playing the main role there.

08 August – One Battle After Another

Fancy a London premiere of a new PTA film? With potential celebrity appearances from Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, and Benicio del Toro? And a mind-bending plot based on a Thomas Pynchon novel? Yeah—those are rhetorical questions.

29 August – The Roses

Family secrets, personal dramas, black comedy… This and more in Jay Roach’s adaptation of Warren Adler’s novel titled The War of Roses. With a cast including Benedict Cumberbatch, Olivia Colman, and Allison Janney, it looks like a promising treat for the fans eager to attend a premiere.

19 September – A Big Bold Beautiful Journey

As if a duo featuring Colin Farrell and Margot Robbie weren’t magical enough, this road movie by Kogonada (Pachinko, After Yang) is a romantic fantasy tale of emotional discovery that viewers are sure to be talking about for some time.

19 December – Avatar: Fire And Ash

Now, this is one of those loudest blockbuster films that are going to be presented this year by Hollywood in London. The third part of the franchise will focus on the Neytiri’s fight against the Ash People, a cruel and power-hungry clan. If you’re waiting for movie stars in London, you will definitely meet someone here!

Sentimental Value (directed by Joachim Trier), Moonglow (directed by Isabel Sandoval), Resurrection (directed by Bin Gan).

The only reason why this tiny list is put separately – we don’t yet have dates for these exclusive film premieres. However, they will be on the radar of independent film enthusiasts, so we recommend attending these movie premieres in London, once the dates are announced.

Film Launch Events in London

London cinema scene has always had a significant presence on a global film map, but in recent years, it has become even more diverse and dynamic, with an ever-growing number of opportunities for filmmakers from all around the globe. This is especially relevant for indie filmmakers, oftentimes representing a local London film industry, which becomes more and more favourable towards young directors and actors. As a result, we’re seeing a rise in British film premieres and a closer connection between audiences and behind-the-scenes film production.

While this article focuses primarily on films featuring more widely recognised names, that’s largely because there’s currently less information available on smaller, independent productions scheduled for release later this year. So, plan your holidays early – your summer in London might well be filled with a flurry of exciting premieres, both those already confirmed and others yet to be announced.
