Jesy Nelson is addressing accusations of Blackfishing and cultural appropriation leveled against her following the release of her new music video on Friday.

The former Little Mix member faced a barrage of criticism on social media over the weekend, with many commentators accusing her of intentionally changing her style in a bid to appear racially ambiguous in “Boyz,” a collaboration with rapper Nicki Minaj.

Jesy Nelson has opened up to pal Nicki Minaj about her sexuality, admitting she would consider experimenting with a woman.

The singer, who recently released her debut solo single Boyz featuring the US rapper and Diddy, has had a string of high-profile relationships since bursting onto the scene in 2011.

However, Jesy, 30, has now addressed her love life and admits that she would consider dating a woman due to her current relationship situation.

During an Instagram Live, Jesy reflected on her relationships and the type of men she goes for, saying: “When’s someone big I feel looked after and I am a curvy girl so when the man is bigger it makes me feel cute and small.”

However, after Nicki asked whether she would consider a relationship with a woman, she responded: “With the way my love life’s going I’d be open to it, to be honest.

“My sister is gay and I’d say my sister’s the more masculine one in the group and her wife is the more feminine one.

“If I was dating a girl I wouldn’t want a girly girl, I’d want more masculine, there aren’t many masculine girls that I can say…”

She appeared to turn on the charm with Nicki, adding: “You’re sexy, even when I was on set with you I was like ‘Jesus Christ this woman is so sexy’. You ooze sex appeal.”

Since finding fame, Jesy has dated the likes of fellow musicians, reality stars and dancers.

It was recently rumoured that Jesy and former boyfriend Harry James had rekindled their relationship after they were seen on holiday together.
