Anura Rohana Wins Opening Round of Asian Games Trials

The Daily Mirror reported that Anura Rohana, a professional golfer, recently competed at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club and won the first leg of the tryouts for the Asian Games golf tournament. Four strokes ahead of Mithun Perera, Rohana took the top spot. 

The top amateurs delivered as expected and came second to the professionals. Kaya Daluwatte, the youngest competitor in the ladies’ competition, together with Reshan Algama and Yannik Kumara, a young star, fared well, competing against the top contenders.

The Sri Lanka Golf National Selectors have planned additional trials following the guidelines established by the National Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Sports. The subsequent two events will be held in Colombo and Kandy. Four male and three female golfers will be chosen to represent Sri Lanka in the Asian Games.
