But it’s not just impressive viewing figures that steal the headlines, as many contestants go on to achieve unrivalled levels of fame, fortune and influence, especially on social media.
With some contestants amassing millions of followers, these reality TV daters stand to make big bucks in lucrative brand endorsements. But, which contestant is the most popular and what character components generate a winning formula on the show and on social media?
But, which contestants have made the most impact and sustained the best career after the show ended?

Kady has multiple businesses. It’s believed 2016 star, Kady McDermott, is worth £1.3million. After Love Island, Kady launched her own fitness and beauty brands. She has also become a cast member on TOWIE. She currently owns Body Goals By Kady, a fitness and lifestyle app which contains recipes and fitness planners. Kady is also listed on Companies House as owning Kady McDermott LTD, set up for her “television programme production activities”.
8 Olivia Buckland And Alex Bowen
Season two runner-up Olivia Bowen is the most successful ex-Islander alongside her husband Alex Bowen (who she met on the show.)
The 28-year-old is thought to make £15,000 per sponsored post and has had several clothing collections with In The Style and MissPap. In 2018, they filmed the TLC programmes, Olivia and Alex Said Yes and she has had gigs presenting on British television.
Alex Bowen has used his reality TV fame to pursue a career as an online coach. The pair welcomed a son, Abel, in June 2022.
7 Molly Mae Hague And Tommy Fury
Molly and Tommy have gained a fortune and become household names after appearing on the dating show. Molly Mae was the first Love Island contestant to sign a collaboration contract for £1,000,000 for her second collection with Pretty Little Thing. She would later become the creative director of the brand.
She revealed in a YouTube tell-all with her manager Fran that she turned down a £2 million high street brand deal when she left the villa because she didn’t personally wear the brand. Between her popular Instagram and her YouTube channel, she is rumored to make up to £28k per sponsored post. She also runs her own fake tan company, Filter by Molly Mae.
Molly-Mae is the blueprint of how to go on Love Island, launch businesses, and make shit loads of cash. All together, she now has four companies registered in her name, that have been valued as being worth £2million. Her biggest is probably fake tan brand, Filter by Molly-Mae. The others are MMH International, FMM Cosmetics and MMH Group Holdings.
As well as this, Molly-Mae has made millions from her influencing and brand work, as well as being Creative Director for PrettyLittleThing.
Tommy Fury, younger brother to Tyson Fury, is a boxer as well as reality TV star. He rose to fame for being Jake Paul’s adversary. He signed a reported six-figure deal to become the face of boohooMAN. Higgins and Fury allegedly earn £10,000 for a joint personal appearance.
6 Dani Dyer And Jack Fincham
Dani Dyer stepped out of the shadow of her actor father Danny Dyer to be one of the most successful Love Island contestants.
2018 winner Dani Dyer has a business called I Want It, I Got It – which is worth an impressive £260,945. According to Companies House, this business is registered for all her work in TV and broadcasting. She’s been in TV adverts and a host of shows, including some alongside her dad, Danny Dyer.
As well as her business, since the show, Dani has written a book, gained more than 3million Instagram followers and secured huge clothing collections with In The Style. She had a huge £500k deal with In The Style to design and model her own range, and it resulted in being one of the best selling ranges of all time for the online brand. Off the back of that, she’s launched another collection with the brand.
Dani has worked on several clothing collections with In The Style as well as appearing in TV adverts with Surf and Nasty Gal. Since having her son, she has transition more to being a mommy blogger.
Fincham and Dyer had their own TV show Jack & Dani: Life After Love Island. Fincham did some sponsored posts and club appearances straight after leaving Love Island. He released his own clothing range and has worked with brands like McDonald’s and Protein World.
5 Amber Gill
Shortly after Amber GIll left the villa she signed a £1million deal with MissPap, which was, at the time, the biggest deal in Love Island history.
The winner has made numerous appearances on British TV shows including Celebrity Mastermind. In 2022, she published her debut romance novel ‘Until I Met You’ with Mills & Boon.

Not long after leaving the villa, she was announced as the new brand ambassador for InTheStyle in a deal worth £1 million. She finished 9th on Dancing On Ice in January 2022.

Megan Barton-Hanson is believed to have made most of her money after the show from becoming a hugely successful OnlyFans creator. She joined the site during lockdown, and was able to buy a house later that year.
She runs a successful OnlyFans account, making over a fortune sexy lingerie and images. She is also a columnist for Vice and is a podcast host. Megan is said to be making a fantastic £800,000 a month from her pictures. Back in 2020, Megan revealed that her earnings from OnlyFans meant that she could buy her own three-bed-room flat in London.
2 Kem Cetinay
In 2017, Kem Cetinay won Love Island with former girlfriend Amber Davies, 25, scooping the £50,000 cash prize. He has never been far from the small screen since the ITV2 reality show ended. He appeared on Dancing on Ice and MasterChef, and has his own restaurant.
Whilst most of his money has been made from brand deals and TV appearances, Kem is also the owner of Essex restaurant Array. It’s a celeb hotspot, and yes, it’s very expensive. The most expensive bottle of wine there is over £500 and a Cote de Boeuf meal costs £62. This year, it was revealed Kem knows 2022 Islander Tasha, because she has been a dancer at his restaurant.
He also released his own single “Little Bit Leave It” with Chris Hughes. He signed a seven-figure deal with Primark to create his own men’s grooming collection, the most for a male contestant. The former barber has since worked for ITV’s This Morning as their entertainment presenter and has worked as a mental health campaigner.
