Britain’s Got Talent TV hosting duo Ant and Dec struggled as they became judges on the show last week.
With Simon Cowell having to miss some auditions in Manchester due to illness the Geordie pair stepped in for him on the panel.
But they found it too hard to say no or buzz acts with David Walliams branding the pair too nice.
He tweeted: “@antanddec sat in for @SimonCowell today but were too nice to buzz anyone. Aaah…!”
A show insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper at the weekend: “It’s the first time in eight years they have tried judging and neither found it easy.
“Ant had to rate a comedian who wasn’t funny, then Dec judged a grandad who pulled some bizarre Michael Jackson moves.”
Fortunately for them, Ant and Dec’s stay on the panel was short lived as Simon turned up half way through filming to conclude the auditions.
Although despite feeling better it seems that Simon was in a rather bad mood.
While one singer had a standing ovation from the other judges for their cover of I Am What I Am, Simon said they “murdered” the song.
He added: “It was gruesome, the sort of thing at a wedding when someone comes out of a cake.”
Britain’s Got Talent will air on ITV later in the Spring.
