Big Brother TV return until autumn 2023

Big Brother’s hotly anticipated return to television has been delayed until autumn 2023.

The reality show, which has found a new home at ITV after being off screens since 2018, was initially due to air in the spring but has been pushed back due to the network’s mammoth line-up of programmes at the start of the year.

Fans will have two series of Love Island to look forward to, as well as the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! special before Big Brother arrives.

‘We have taken the decision to move the transmission of Big Brother to a more prominent slot in the Autumn,’ an ITV spokesperson revealed.

‘This gives our viewers a whole calendar of big reality TV formats across the year.’

It was announced earlier this month that casting is officially underway, with execs on the hunt for the best housemates to enter the infamous compound.

‘Big Brother is looking for the nation’s most interesting, funny and entertaining characters who come from every corner of the country.

‘The final cast of housemates will live under the watchful eye of Big Brother, and the nation, for up to six weeks with cameras capturing their every move.

‘Over the course of the show, they’ll face a series of clever tasks, nail-biting nominations, and live evictions, with the public once again playing a crucial role, voting throughout the series and ultimately determining the winner.’

Although the host of the new Big Brother has yet to be announced, many fans have been busy speculating who could take charge, with names including Alison Hammond, Maura Higgins, and AJ Odudu floating about.

Former host Emma Willis recently ruled herself out from presenting the series, despite having fronted the show for five years over on Channel 5. ‘I think with every new era of Big Brother, I think there should be a new host,’

‘You know, I loved my time on the show, and I very much kind of said goodbye to it back then because we thought it was over. ‘I don’t tend to go back. I like to move forward.’

She continued: ‘I think it’s right. It’s starting again, it’s got a new home – it should have a new host.’

Big Brother returns to ITV2 in the autumn of 2023.
