Get ready for even more “Cobra Kai.” Season five of the hit series, based on the “Karate Kid” film franchise, is almost here.

The show — which stars Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, and more — has become a huge hit in its first four seasons. It has been nominated for eight Emmys over the years, including outstanding comedy series in 2021. Season four premiered in December 2021, and the fifth season was announced prior to the fourth installment’s release. The show follows Zabka’s Johnny Lawrence decades after he lost to Daniel LaRusso in the 1984 All-Valley Karate Tournament. Lawrence eventually reopens the infamous Cobra Kai dojo, and rivalries and combat ensue.

Macchio and Zabka will return, along with Maridueño, Thomas Ian Griffith, Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand and Peyton List. “Karate Kid Part II”‘s Yuki Okumoto and “Karate Kid Part III” cast member Sean Kanan will also make appearances, and Alicia Hannah-Kim is joining the cast as an intimidating South Korean sensei.

Season five will pick up where season four left off, with Griffith’s Terry Silver working on developing the Cobra Kai empire following the events of season four’s All Valley tournament. Meanwhile, Zabka’s Johnny Lawrence will be setting karate aside to focus on his relationships.
