Dancing On Ice will be back on our screens and Ray Quinn, Beth Tweddle, Sam Attwater, Hayley Tamaddon and Suzanne Shaw return.

It came as a surprise when we first heard that ITV’s Dancing On Ice had been cancelled, but we said it would be back!

The former stars of the show will now return for an all-star series…

The show which returns January 2014 – will see former winners Hayley Tamaddon, Beth Tweddle, Sam Attwater, Ray Quinn and Suzanne Shaw back on our screens!

However, other former contestants including ex-EastEnders Todd Carty, will once again put on their ice skates, but notably absent from the lineup is former Coronation Street star Chris Fountain – who played the role of Tommy Duckworth – who was sacked from the soap after it emerged he’d recorded rap songs that “glorified” rape and violence

As fans of Dancing On Ice will no doubt recall, Chris came second in the third series of the show in 2008.

Meanwhile, Olympic ice-skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean – who are of course mentors on the show – promised that the show’s last run would be its best yet.

Speaking to The Sun, the couple said, “Next year marks 30 years since the Bolero and our Olympic gold in Sarajevo, so it seemed a fitting time to say goodbye to Dancing On Ice.

“We wanted to go out on a high!”

A show insider added, “Dancing On Ice will go out with a bang as the very best star skaters we’ve had over the past eight series, along with show favourites, come back to try to become the champion of champions.

“Previous show winners will be trying to retain their title, runners-up will have lots of old scores to settle and the audience favourites will want to go out and entertain the crowd once more.

“It promises to be a fun final series but there will be plenty of people taking it very seriously indeed.”
