Dancing On Ice contestants cram in last minute practice

Popstar Gareth Gates, who finished fourth in Series 3, tweeted this week after the Christmas holidays: “Back on the Ice this morning after a week and half off… I hope I haven’t forgotten how to skate!”

Bookies favourite Ray Quinn added: “Skating this morning!! Last minute I’ve time. Getting ready to rumble!!”

Suszanne Shaw has been struggling to get onto the ice over the past month, trying to schedule training inbetween her public appearances.

“I’m juggling skate training with a pantomime in Bristol and it’s just my luck that Bristol’s ice rink closed last year,” she said. “So either I get up at 4am to go to the ice rink in Swindon or train in Bristol at an outdoor Christmas rink, which is what I’ve been doing.

“But with all the rain and wind from the storms we’ve been having, I’ve been skating around practically in water.

Meanwhile, singer Dane Bowers has issued DOI’s Gareth, a warning after it was revealed the pair would be appearing in the new series of The Big Reunion together.

The two popstars will be part of a new supergroup on the ITV2 show, leaving former Pop Idol star Gareth a very busy schedule this Spring.

Dane tweeted yesterday: “Gotta wish the lad @Gareth_Gates good luck on Dancing on Ice…don’t do yourself in please!!!”
