Emma Willis set for big pay rise to keep her from ITV

Emma Willis is set for a big pay rise on The Voice UK next year as the BBC fight to keep her away from ITV.

The current Big Brother host is reportedly involved in a bidding war with ITV keen to secure Emma on a so-called ‘golden handcuffs’ deal.

It would mean more air time on ITV for Emma but she’d have to quit her other work on both Channel 5 and the BBC.

“Emma is hugely talented and has so much potential to be one of the channel’s most high profile faces said an ITV source recently.

“They have a reputation for having great women and Emma would add to those already there and strengthen their position in the TV industry.”

Unsurprisingly the BBC aren’t exactly happy about it all and don’t want to be looking for a third presenter in as many years when The Voice returns in 2015.

“The production team have been really impressed with Emma,” a source told the Daily Mirror newspaper at the weekend. “At the moment, no decisions have been taken about who will front the next series, but they know they have a winning formula right now.”

The show source added: “They [the BBC] don’t want to lose her to ITV, so they’ll make her an offer she can’t refuse.”

The BBC previously confirmed it had commissioned The Voice UK for a further two series, securing the show’s future on air until at least 2017.

However no official announcement on members of the judging or hosting line up have been made.
