I’m A Celebrity 2013 bosses under attack for giving Joey Essex too much air-time

I’m A Celebrity 2013 producers have been criticised for not giving some stars of this year’s line up enough air time.

Whilst ther Essex star and Favourite to win Joey Essex has been the focus of this year’s show (because of the trials), the other campmates family’s are not happy!

To date, the TOWIE star has only not been voted to take part in two of the bushtucker trials, having completed six throughout the first week in camp.

But it’s left the friends, family and fans of the show’s other celebs rather annoyed.

Lucy Pargeter’s boyfriend Rudi Coleano complained this week that we’ve not seen enough of her on our tellys.

“There’s a lot more of Lucy to show,” he said from Australia. “She’s easy-going but not scared to speak her mind. I’d love to see her do a trial.”

Steve Davis’ girlfriend Jeanie Nash had similar comments to make, telling the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Give the others more air time. I think Steve is doing really well in the jungle. It looks like he’s loving it in there.

“I’m really proud. We’ve been together for eight years and I miss him dearly, but I want to see how far he can go in the show.

“He’s really embraced jungle life. In fact, I think he wants to stay there.”

Meanwhile, Joey’s dad Donald has hit back at claims suggesting his son is faking his apparent stupidity.

“Honestly, all those ‘Joeyisms’ he comes out with on I’m a Celebrity, that’s him. He’s not putting it on at all,” he told The Sun. “He’s always getting his words wrong like ‘confrontate’.

“Even I’ve been gobsmacked. I mean, I didn’t know he couldn’t tell the time and as for not knowing how to blow your nose, I’m embarrassed to be honest. Joey’s a one-off. You won’t find another like him, believe me.”

He added: “When he had his 21st here, he put up a gazebo in the garden. But the wind got up and I realised that instead of fixing the ropes to anything solid, he’d tied them to things that flew off here, there and everywhere.”

Our editor Mark Boardman adds “Viewers want to see more of the other celebs”.
