I’m A Celebrity 2022 Coming Out show air date revealed as Jill Scott is crowned Queen of the jungle

The I’m A Celebrity 2022 Coming Out special has been revealed as Jill Scott rightfully was voted Queen of the jungle

Last night we saw the I’m A Celebrity 2022 winner crowned in the final live show of the series however it won’t be the last instalment of I’m A Celeb for the year.

As is tradition, a special one-off following the celebs outside of the jungle will be on TV later this week.

Celebs who took part in the series are Corrie actress Sue Cleaver, presenter Scarlette Douglas, radio broadcaster Chris Moyles, stand up Babatúndé Aléshé, musician Boy George,  comedian Seann Walsh, Love Island star Olivia Attwood, Loose Women star Charlene White, Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner, England footballer Jill Scott, former rugby player Mike Tindall MBE and former health secretary Matt Hancock.

This year’s cast said goodbye to their home comforts and instead moved into the jungle Down Under with a whole host of surprises created just for them with hosts Ant and Dec. Set in Australia for the first time in two years, the celebrities were confronted by tough bushtucker trials and fear-inducing challenges.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! Coming Out follows this year’s celebs from the moment they step off the bridge into the arms of their waiting family and friends. The one-off show will combine the best bits from the series with interviews with the celebrities who are now out of the jungle.

I’m A Celeb’s 2022 Coming Out special now has a confirmed air date, showing on ITV on Thursday, 1 December at 9:15PM.

Back to the final. I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! bosses had Matt Hancock completing his final Bushtucker trial to a remix of Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill (Deal With God) leaving fans furious.

Before Jill Scott was crowned queen of the jungle, the finalists completed their last gruesome tasks of the series.

Former health secretary Hancock was challenged to take on Flood Your Face, which involved him keeping his head in a tank while it was slowly filled with water, eels, yabbies, spiders, and other critters.

As he desperately tried to win stars so that he could enjoy a lavish three-course meal, a revised version of the beloved 80s ballad played out, and it didn’t go unnoticed by viewers.

Stranger Things fans were especially quick to pick up on the song choice given that the 1985 hit exploded in popularity earlier this year after being featured in a critical moment of season four when Sadie Sink’s character Max faces Vecna in a sinister trance.

Owen Warner was gobsmacked after Ant and Dec informed him that Chris Moyles had been telling him a load of porkies during their stint on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

During Sunday’s grand finale, fans saw former health secretary Matt Hancock finishing in third place, with the Hollyoaks star as this year’s runner up and Lionesses Jill Scott taking the crown.

But before the result was announced, Matt and Jill looked reflected on their jungle highlights with hosts Ant and Dec.

One of the long-running gags on this year’s series involved radio DJ Chris having a bit of fun with ‘gullible’ Owen by feeding him a lot of lies over his personal achievements.

During one of their dingo dollar challenges, Chris told the Romeo Nightingale actor: ‘I was a Commonwealth 40 metre sprint champion when I was 21.’

To which Owen replied: ‘Impressive.’ After Ant McPartlin stressed that Chris was ‘making it all up,’ Owen turned to 2022 series winner Jill and asked: ‘Did you know about this?’

Jill, like the rest of her co-stars, was definitely in on the joke much to Owen’s surprise.

In the results, it was Jill Scott who won I’m A Celebrity 2022 with Owen Warner runner up. Matt Hancock has finished in third place on ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’

Both Jill and Owen spent 22 days in the camp ahead of the final viewer poll. Season 22 began on Sunday 6th November, with 10 celebrities in the I’m a Celebrity 2022 line-up.

How much I’m A Celebrity 2022 celebrities are paid – I’m A Celebrity 2022 fees ‘revealed’

This year’s highest paid celebrity is reported to be Boy George with a supposed fee of around £500,000 which a source told the Daily Mail is “the highest pay cheque in the history of the show.”

Meanwhile MP Matt Hancock is rumoured to have been “around £400,000”.

He said: “I was expecting to be grilled and some were really enjoyable and a release because I could say exactly what I thought but some of them got very emotional. I live with those reactions and I feel it bit what I was able to do – one of the things I’m really grateful for – is that we had grown-up conversations. There were discussions, but no aggro.”

“I know it was controversial, me coming here. I knew that people had said I shouldn’t. We’ve all got lots of sides to our personalities and there’s the serious one but there’s also the lighter side of me. I just decided I was going to go in there and be myself as if the cameras weren’t there and that’s what I did.”

A source told The Sun newspaper: “Matt’s pay deal with I’m A Celebrity is around £400,000 which is one of the largest ever show fees to have been paid out.”

Other big fees are said to have gone to Mike Tindall (£250,000) and Chris Moyles (£200,000).

Olivia Attwood, Seann Walsh, Sue Cleaver and Jill Scott are all reportedly getting between £100,000 and £130,000 for their stay with Charlene White apparently scooping £75,000.

Finally, Scarlett Douglas, Babatúndé Aléshé, and Owen Warner are rumoured to be getting paid around £65,000 each.

However the celebs are unlikely to see all of that money in their bank accounts.

Former I’m A Celebrity camper, BBC newsreader Michael Beurk, previously revealed of his payment: “If you only knew how much the Australian tax authorities get out of it, you’d realise at the end of the day that it is the glory, I think, I am doing it for.”
