‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ bosses have promised a shakeup to the format for its opening episode.
The ITV reality show – which is hosted by Ant and Dec – returns to Australia this weekend and executive producer Olly Nash has revealed the jungle campmates will be slit into three groups instead of two, and they’ll face more challenges than ever before.
“It’s much bigger than we’ve ever done before. We’re filming more [challenges] than we’ve ever filmed before…
MarkMeets.com exclusively revealed that 24 trials will take place across 21 shows.
“There’ll be more elements lasting over more shows than has happened before too, so it’s not all just going to be limited to show one.”
And he warned that “not all celebrities will be here in camp at the end of Sunday’s show”.
Typically, two separate teams find themselves competing for more luxurious digs, and the team that loses has more basic rations.
Nash added: “The contestants will be coming into camp in three groups, in stages. The first three celebrities will be followed by another three celebrities and they will get the pick of the beds.
“We have bunk beds which is a first for ‘I’m A Celebrity’ and then we have a Luxury RV that was driven through the jungle about 35 years ago, broke down and was never moved.
“That will make a very comfy home for two people inside there.”
For the series as a whole, there is also set to be a total of 24 Bushtucker Trials, and more two-player tasks than ever before.
‘I’m a Celeb’ returns tonight when pop icon Boy George, ‘Coronation Street’ star Sue Cleaver, ‘Hollyoaks’ actor Owen Warner, former England rugby player Mike Tindall, radio presenter Chris Moyles, England Lioness Jill Scott, comedian Babatunde Aleshe, former ‘Love Island’ star Olivia Attwood, and TV presenters Charlene White and Scarlette Douglas will enter the camp Down Under.
Meanwhile, politician Matt Hancock is also set to join them (He has been suspended as Tory MP for joining I’m a Celeb cast).
