Jay McGuiness insists he has a ”close bond” with his ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Aliona Vilani but denies there is any chance of a romance because she’s married to a ”legend”.
The former Wanted group member confesses he is incredibly close with his professional dancing partner on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ but insists the pair are just friends.
He said: ”You spend so much time with your partner that you do get really close really quickly. A lot of us feel like we have really bonded with the dancers …
”I am single but I didn’t expect to meet someone on ‘Strictly’. As some of The Wanted’s fans pointed out, it’s a dance show, not a dating show. There won’t be any wandering eyes, either.
”Aliona is happily married to an Irish fellow who I think is a legend. So my eyes won’t wander in our rehearsals.”
The 25-year-old singer also admits he needs to work on his ”finesse” when it comes to the pair’s routines.
He added to The Sun : ”She’s the one in control and I’m the one who needs to be constantly told what the hell it is I’m supposed to be doing. She drags me round the dance floor and I pick her up – but I do it like I’m picking up a log and throwing it on to a truck.
”I need much more finesse. I’ll say to her, ‘It doesn’t look very good, does it?’ But she’ll say, ‘It doesn’t look 25 years good, but for two weeks’ dancing it looks pretty good.’ It has been really hard work but it’s supposed to be. It’s not supposed to be a nice walk in the park with a picnic.”
