World-renowned Olympic gymnastics legend, Nadia Comaneci will act as Head Judge and is joined by London 2012 hero and Strictly Come Dancing champion Louis Smith, MBE. Completing the formidable panel are former Team GB gymnastics captain, turned sports broadcaster Craig Heap and world renowned cirque artist / aerial performer Sebastien Stella.

Nadia, famously the first ever female gymnast to score a perfect 10 in an Olympic competition said, “I know what it’s like to strive for that perfect 10! Your heart is pounding and your palms are sweaty, but when you step out onto that floor, or mount the bars or beam, you have to perform like your life depends on it. The celebrities are going to be put through a fitness, gymnastic and acrobatic training regime that’s like nothing they’ll ever have experienced, and I can’t wait to see the results!”

Multi Olympic, World and European medal winning gymnast Louis Smith offered up these words for the intrepid celebrities: “When you commit to something you’ve got to do it because you want to win. It’s got to take over your life, your every waking moment. I also know how scary it is to be on a live Saturday night entertainment show, so I’ll definitely have a bit of empathy with the celebs on that!”

If this year has taught me anything it is that no challenge is too great or too high!”

Executive Producer, Rachel Arnold said “This is gymnastics but not as you know it. We’re creating something genuinely new and exciting for viewers; breathtaking performances and heart stopping drama. Our celebrities will wow us with spectacular routines that combine gymnastic and aerial disciplines, for the first time on British television.”

Charlotte Moore, Controller, BBC One and Commissioning Editor, said, “It’s an exciting line up for our new Saturday night show with Alex Jones hosting alongside our brilliant new judges. Between them they’ll bring great style, flair and expertise. Our celebrities will be pushed to new physical limits – bringing gymnastics to Saturday nights like you’ve never seen before.”

With the full backing of British Gymnastics and The National Centre for Circus Arts, the renowned coaches are ready to turn 10 of the nation’s favourite celebrities into Saturday night sensations who‘ll face a multitude of disciplines including tumbling, double trapeze, acrobatic gymnastics and trampolining.
