Ray Quinn is favourite to win Dancing On Ice 2014

Dancing On Ice 2014 judge Robin Cousins has revealed Ray Quinn is his personal favourite of this year’s all star line up.

The final series of DOI starts next month on ITV, with a line up of fourteen celebs from previous series.

X Factor singer Ray won the show back in 2009, topping the leaderboard every week, so it’s no surprise to hear he has fans on the panel.

“We’ve had some great people and skaters on the show but my favourite contestant was Ray because he could have been a junior senior professional had he got into ice skating instead of ballroom,” Robin said. “There was a natural ability in him that’s rare.”

Robin admitted he wasn’t upset that the show was ending, saying he never expected it to have survive this long.

But Robin did tell the paper he’d be up for returning if ITV did decide to give the skating series a comeback in the future.

“It’s one or two more shows than I thought we would have done in the past, and I would love to be a judge again in the future,” Robin explained. “As a format it works and as long as there’s an audience for that type of reality show then it could continue.

“I think it’s great Jane and Chris want to move on because they have other things happening. I will miss it and it’s fun because everyone goes away and has their own lives and then you come back together again in January.”

Robin added: “Every year I’ve thought it will be the year it finishes and so now that I know it is, I hope it will finish with a bang – the right kind of bang!”

The Dancing On Ice 2014 start date is set for January on ITV.
