Ricky Wilson may quit The Voice UK if Kylie leaves the show

Kylie Minogue’s highly likely exit from The Voice UK after the end of this series has thrown the show in to yet more chaos, with Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson now saying that he may not be back for a second series.

Last week, Kylie explained that her upcoming tour will almost certainly prevent her from returning to the talent contest next year.

Following her comments, fellow coaches Will.i.am and Sir Tom Jones revealed that their futures on the show are also in doubt, with the latter commenting: “The BBC should do whatever they can to keep Kylie.”

Now, Ricky – who joined The Voice for the first time this year alongside Kylie – says that her departure would also make him reconsider his position.

The 36-year-old Yorkshireman told The Sun that he ‘could not imagine’ life on the show without the ‘Into The Blue’ singer.

Ricky said: “We have known each other for such a long time. She is one of the reasons why I did it and one of the reasons why I’d stay. People like the show — they like the chemistry.”

Kylie’s latest tour – supporting the release of her new album ‘Kiss Me Once’ – will see her travelling around the UK and Europe in September, October and November.

Although a fourth series of The Voice UK has yet to be confirmed, it’s expected that Kylie’s tour dates could clash with filming of the audition rounds, which last year took place in October and November.

In a statement, a BBC spokesperson said: “We are aware of Kylie’s touring commitments and are looking to accommodate them, so that if the series is recommissioned she could return.”
