EastEnders star Shane Richie has revealed he is enjoying the mixed reactions towards the love triangle between Alfie Moon, Kat Moon and Roxy Mitchell.

Shane’s character Alfie is set to walk up the aisle with Roxy (Rita Simons), but a drunken kiss with ex-wife Kat (Jessie Wallace) on his stag night leaves him torn between the two women. Viewers are left on tenterhooks to discover if the cheeky pub landlord will tie the knot and make Roxy the next Mrs Moon or reunite with Kat.

“I love how we’re playing with the audience in this storyline. I’ve been checking out Twitter and the reactions are really interesting,” the actor told Inside Soap.

“The way it’s all panning out, we’re keeping the whole Alfie and Kat and Alfie and Roxy thing going right up to the wedding – and it’s splitting the audience.”

The 49-year-old added: “Alfie’s got a million and one reasons not to go through with marrying Roxy at this stage. But whether he will or not – well, we’ll all have to wait a bit longer to find out!”

The wedding scenes will play out on the BBC soap on November 25.
