Strictly Come Dancing 2015 is around the corner and already contestants have been confirmed including some popular household names.
MarkMeets presents the latest news as to which celebs will star in the new series this autumn on the BBC.

Peter Andre
Peter is overwelmed to star on the show ahead of his new music saying: “I’ve always loved watching it on TV and to be honest I’m flattered to have been asked to take part before, but due to certain work commitments was unable to. I now feel the time is right to give it a go – everything has just clicked into place to do it this year. ”
Georgia May Foote
Actress Georgia May Foote is the fourth celebrity contestant to be confirmed for the brand new series. She said: “I am so excited to be part of Strictly 2015! It is something I have always wanted to take part in and now I just can’t wait to get started! I love dancing and I love a challenge so this is the perfect experience for me.”
Daniel O’Donnell
The Irish singer confirmed his participation on BBC Radio 2, saying: “Earlier this year, I decided to take a short break from touring and told myself that I would only consider doing something if it was both different and exciting, well what could be more exciting than Strictly Come Dancing?”
Katie Derham
Host Katie Derham was revealed as the fifth celebrity contestant on the upcoming Strictly Come Dancing line up.
She said: “Strictly Come Dancing is a national treasure, and I’m extremely excited to be part of a such a wonderful show.
“I spend hours admiring professional musicians and performers at the Proms and at BBC Radio 3, so I’m thrilled to have the chance to throw myself into an equally demanding and beautiful world.
Jeremy Vine
Journalist, Author and Presenter Jeremy Vine is the first of this year’s confirmed SCD celebs.
He said: “How could I say no to the biggest show in TV? Yes, yes, yes and yes again to the sequins and the Samba! Now I just need to find some dancing shoes and identify my left foot.”
Kellie Bright
EastEnders actress Kellie was confirmed celeb number three: “There are two main reasons I want to take part in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing. The first is that as I will be turning 40 next year, I think it is the perfect time for a new, exciting challenge. The second reason is because if I said ‘no’ Linda Carter would never forgive me!” said Kellie.
Ainsley Harriott
Chef and actor Ainsley Harriott became the second celeb confirmed, saying: “I must admit that I do love to dance, but doing it in front of the nation is a whole different matter! In my day job the only type of Salsa I know about is the one in my recipes so I am looking forward to rising to the challenge, bring it on!”
Carol Kirkwood
The BBC Weather presenter became the sixth confirmed star having been unveiled on BBC Breakfast.
“I am beyond excited to be taking part in the best programme on British telly and have been a huge fan since it started! I can’t wait to learn to dance and hope my experience on Strictly will be a breeze, whether it will be or not is one forecast I cannot predict!” said Carol.
Anthony Ogogo
Boxer Anthony won bronze in the 2012 London Olympics before competing in ITV’s Splash in 2013. He said: “I’ve faced a lot of tough opposition in the past, but I’ve never faced anyone as tough as the Strictly judges before! My Mum is a massive fan of the show so I will be trying my hardest to make her proud.”
Strictly Come Dancing starts later this year on BBC One.
