The Apprentice 2021 winner Harpreet Kaur has opened up about her relationship with co-star Akshay Thakrar, which they announced in August last year, after the show ended.
Harpreet, 31, became Lord Sugar’s latest business partner after her tasty dessert parlours won him over.
Not long later, Akshay, 28, who was a fan-favourite candidate, and Harpreet announced they were dating, in a cute post captioned: ‘The best things in life happen unexpectedly.’
The Oh So Yum! entrepreneur opened up about their relationship admitting “something has blossomed between us’, adding ‘I think we were really focused on the process, focused on the tasks, there was absolutely nothing going on at the house.
‘I think going through the process and coming out of it, we built a friendship and it went from there. Everything after the show.’
She then admitted she hasn’t been sliding into anyone’s DMs, before Akshay spoke about how surprised he was to find love on a business show.

‘Me and Harpreet hardly spoke on the show hardly, because we never worked on the same team. ‘And even while the show aired, we hardly spoke, it’s only after, I was like, “Let’s grab dinner,” she was like, “No, I can only do lunch,” I said, “Fine”, and then we really connected, our mindsets really connected.’
When the pair confirmed they were dating wth a series of sweet snaps last summer, Harpreet penned: ‘The best things in life happen unexpectedly
‘I love sharing my Oh So Yum business journey with you all but this time….it’s a personal one.
Harpreet continued: ’Since coming out of The Apprentice house, my life has been a complete whirlwind in more ways than one.
‘Over the past three months, a special someone has swept me unexpectedly off my feet & I cannot wait to see where this journey takes us
Emma Browne exits The Apprentice
Emma Browne has become the first contestant to exit the new series of ‘The Apprentice’.
The senior account executive left the BBC show prematurely after she failed to impress during a tour challenge in Antigua – but Emma insisted she doesn’t have any regrets about her experience on the programme.
“Everyone’s there for the same reason so naturally, there were clashes et cetera but there were absolutely no hard feelings at all.”
Emma made an early exit from the show after the girls lost out to the boys during the first task of the new series.
As part of the task, the girls sold catamaran tours to tourists in Antigua. But they failed to match the efforts of the boys – who organised a rum tasting and historic site tour – and Emma soon found herself heading home.
She said: “It was a little bit more intense than I expected, but nothing there’s nothing like a bit of pressure.
“Watching at home, you only see an hour, but it’s completely cut down. So that’s obviously one of the biggest things, because I would have thought from watching at home ‘that’s an hour and that’s it,’ but in reality, it’s filmed across hours upon hours.”
The efforts of the girls were undermined by disagreements within the team. The boys, on the other hand, managed to attract interest in the centre of Antigua and they ultimately sold all of their 16 tickets.
The girls’ team made $487.50, once costs were deducted from their total. By contrast, the boys’ team performed much better, making as much as $989 in profit, including $75 in tips.
The Apprentice continues on BBC One on Thursday at 9pm and The Apprentice: You’re Fired airs at 10pm on BBC Two.
