In the knockouts the singers in each team chose one song and then perform one after the other for the coaches. There is no feedback on the performances until everyone has sung when the coaches announce the trio on their teams that they’re taking through to the lives.

MarkMeets can reveal that Will.i.am has some harsh words for Team Kylie’s acts on the Voice UK tonight. “I think the song selections were too obvious, except for Jamie’s,”

First up tonight is Team Kylie which the Aussie popstar reckons is a “dynamic team with different styles.”

She tells her acts: “I really want you all to be yourself. Let me get to know you a little more in this performance and everyone else at home.”

To cameras, Kylie adds: “It’s going to be very tricky. I am bricking it.”

The performances on tonight’s show come thick and fast with Leo Ihenacho starting proceedings for Kylie’s line up but things get a little embarrassing in rehearsals as he experiences the “most cringiest situation in his entire life” which even causes Kylie to declare “epic fail”.

Jai McConnell chooses to take on a song she struggles to actually sing while “sassy sex bomb” Jade Mayjean Peters matures as she puts her “fighting head” on.

Lee Glasson has been working out ahead of his song – a cover of Georgie Michael’s Careless Whisper – while Kylie’s steal Femi Santiago proves a hit with the other coaches.

“Sweet sixteen” favourite to Rachael O’Connor is next, even though she’s actually seventeen, leaving Jamie Johnson to round off Team Kylie’s performances with a huge performance of Sex On Fire.

After the performances Will remarks he was disappointed in a lot of the song choices while Ricky reckons the boys out performed the girls.

It’s all down to Kylie however who says: “There’s no way of choosing three people and being happy. I’ve tried to put the jigsaw together every way and it doesn’t work.”

Next we move straight on to Team Tom who declares he’s got “the best” line up of budding performers.

“They sing and perform and I don’t have any two singers alike,” he says. “Now we can see who’s got the complete package and who’s got the potential to be as star.

“They need to pick the right song, they must chose wisely.”

First up and “singing for her kids” is Celestine who’s followed by “Melissa with the pink hair” (as Sir Tom calls her).

The other singers in Team Tom watch on from the sidelines with some very awkward dancing (well, swaying) as Gary Poole takes to the stage next.

Bizzi Dixon leaves Sir Tom Jones unsure with some “oobly oobly”s in rehearsals, a term which has even Willi.i.am stumped.

Then there’s Georgia ‘I’ve Got A Famous Cousin’ Harrup (yes, the tenuous link to Adele is still being brought up) who impresses with a spin on Three Little Birds by Bob Marley.

Sir Tom’s steal Steven Alexander sings Mika afterwards leaving Sally Barker to close with a song that reminds her of her teenage years.

After all seven have sung, Kylie remarks: “They’ve all had the Tom effect. If I was just to say one performance that stood out, I have a slight obsession with Georgia, I think she fantastic. ”

Will agrees: “The best one that blew me away was Georgia’s because of the twist. She re-invented something that I wasn’t expecting, a curevball… like, that was really fantastic.”

But who will Sir Tom Jones pick? Find out as The Voice UK airs tonight from 7:15PM on BBC One.
