THE VOICE UK returns to our screens next week but ahead of the launch of the new series Sir Tom Jones has divulged what can sometimes hold contestants back in the competition.
He coached Ruti Olajugbagbe to victory in 2018 and no doubt he’s got plenty of good advice up his sleeve.
But the veteran performer has revealed that some hopefuls on the ITV show may not always know about picking the right song.
Tom dished: “Song choice is very important. If they pick the wrong song it’s difficult.
“When I start working with singers sometimes they don’t think it’s right for them.
“All big voices like to sing Whitney Houston songs.
“Sometimes they don’t even know themselves and that’s a thing with coaching that’s important.
“Something they wouldn’t have even thought of for themselves.”
Tom will be returning as a judge alongside Jennifer Hudson, Olly Murs and will.i.am.
Also returning is Emma Willis who will host the singing competition.
