Walk The Line TV series set to be axed

Despite an all-star line up Craig David, Alesha Dixon, Gary Barlow, Maya Jama, Dawn French, TV series Walk The Line is reported to be axed, MarkMeets have been informed.

The show combines a talent contest with a gaming element, as singers decide whether to stay in the competition or cash out but only averaged a 4.2/10 viewer rating.

The new ITV musical game show aired across one week last year yet audiences plunged to as low as 1.8 million during its six-night run last month. ITV chiefs are understood to have ruled out a second series.

Walk The Line was the show Simon hoped would save him. but that wasn’t to be, and it won’t be back.’

Simon was originally announced to appear on the panel before later being replaced on screen by Gary Barlow.
Craig David, Alesha Dixon, Dawn French were on the panel with Maya Jama on hosting duties.

Nadiah Adu-Gymafi who was the last singer standing at the end of the series and walked away with a £500,000 prize. The contestant said of the show: “There’s been so many things that led up to this day. I’ve just had to listen to that voice inside and go for it. I don’t want to live in regret.”

Following her win, she told press including MarkMeets “I’m so happy. I just want to say thank you to every single person who voted for me.”

ITV say no decisions have been made.
