The producers of My Fair Lady, which is in its closing week of a successful run at the London Coliseum, has announced casting for its UK tour.

The tour will star West End leading man Michael D Xavier (Sunset Boulevard) as Henry Higgins, Charlotte Kennedy (Les Misérables) as Eliza Doolittle, Adam Woodyatt (Ian Beale in EastEnders) as Alfred P Doolittle, Heather Jackson (The Phantom of the Opera) as Mrs Higgins, John Middleton (Rev. Ashley Thomas in Emmerdale) as Colonel Pickering, Lesley Garrett (The Messiah) as Mrs Pearce, and Tom Liggins as Freddy Eynsford-Hill.

The Lincoln Center Theater production of My Fair Lady, directed by Bartlett Sher, opened at the London Coliseum in May 2022, and the current cast at the Coliseum includes Amara Okereke as Eliza Doolittle, Harry Haddon-Paton as Henry Higgins and Sharif Afifi as Freddy.

The show is embarking on a multi-date tour which includes Bradford (9 September 2022), Dublin (6 – 30 October), Cardiff (8 – 26 November), Edinburgh (14 December – 7 January 2023), Southampton (12 – 29 January), Birmingham (7 – 26 March) and Canterbury (20 June – 1 July).

The show boasts a book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe. My Fair Lady is adapted from George Bernard Shaw’s play Pygmalion, and also takes inspiration from Gabriel Pascal’s film.

The wider creative team of the musical includes design by Michael Yeargan, costumes by Catherine Zuber, lighting by Donald Holder, sound by Marc Salzberg, hair and wigs by Tom Watson, music supervision by Gareth Valentine, musical direction by Alex Parker, musical supervision by Ted Sperling and choreography by Christopher Gattelli.
