Richard Coyle and Niall Buggy join To Kill a Mockingbird in London’s West End

New casting has been announced for the West End production of To Kill A Mockingbird at the Gielgud Theatre in London.

Richard Coyle, most recently seen in James Graham’s Ink, will take on the lead role of Atticus Finch with award-winning actor Niall Buggy (Uncle Vanya, Aristocrats, Dead Funny) taking on the part of Judge Taylor. The pair will join the show on 15 August 2022.

Rafe Spall (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, The BFG) and Jim Norton, who originated the roles of Atticus Finch and Judge Taylor in the West End will play their final performances on 13 August 2022. Tickets are available to book until 19 November 2022.Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, published in 1960, explores racial injustice in America and features one of the most iconic characters in literary history – small-town lawyer Atticus Finch – famously portrayed on screen by Gregory Peck.

Aaron Sorkin’s Tony Award winning adaptation of Harper Lee’s novel is directed by Bartlett Sher (My Fair Lady, The King and I).

Continuing in the show are Harry Attwell (Mr Cunningham/Boo Radley), Amanda Boxer (Mrs Henry Dubose), Poppy Lee Friar (Mayella Ewell), John Hastings (Bailiff), Simon Hepworth (Mr Roscoe/Dr Reynolds), Laura Howard (Miss Stephanie/Dill’s Mother), Lloyd Hutchinson (Link Deas), Gwyneth Keyworth (Scout Finch), Tom Mannion (Sheriff Heck Tate), David Moorst (Dill Harris), Pamela Nomvete (Calpurnia), Patrick O’Kane (Bob Ewell), Jude Owusu (Tom Robinson), Harry Redding (Jem Finch), David Sturzaker (Horace Gilmer) and Natasha Williams (Mrs Dubose’s Maid), with Helen Belbin, Laurence Belcher, Paul Birchard, Ryan Ellsworth, Rebecca Hayes, Danny Hetherington, Matthew Jure, Anna Munden, Tiwai Muza, Oyin Orija and Itoya Osagiede making up the ensemble and understudies, with Candida Caldicot on organ and Ciyo Brown and Jack Benjamin on guitar, to complete the company.

To Kill A Mockingbird is booking until 19 November 2022 at the Gielgud Theatre in London.
