Jennie McAlpine hopes she remains on ITV soap ‘Coronation Street’ when she’s “old”.

The 37-year-old actress has portrayed Fiz Stape for more than 20 years and he or she’s amazed at how rapidly the time has handed, and regardless of her involvement with the cleaning soap, she’s nonetheless an enormous “fan” too.

Jennie – who has Albert, seven, and Hilda, three, together with her partner Chris Farr – admitted her Christmas planning was accomplished in a rush as a result of ‘Corrie’s filming schedule left her confused.

“We movie it in October and I spent three weeks carrying Fiz’s Christmas earrings, so when the true Christmas comes I believe, ‘Well, we’ve accomplished that haven’t we?’

“Then I suddenly realise, ‘Oh crikey, I’d better get on with actual Christmas now!”
