Paige Young is an artist we’ve championed and one year on from being our featured artist we got to catch up with her in a new interview!

The 21 year old singer discusses everything from working with Chip to future plans in music including her Ep ‘Polaroids’.

Hi Paige, great to meet you, how are things?
Hey what’s happening? Lovely to meet you guys too. Things are great! I’ve been crazy busy finishing up my EP “Polaroids” which I can’t wait for everyone to hear, also my music video for “All The Way” ft Chip just came out which I’m really excited about, check it out on Vevo.

Can you describe your sound and style?
I would describe my sound as sultry, edgy and raw. Which is also where I can relate my style. I’m not the sort of girl that plans my outfits for a week, I’ll just wake up and throw on whatever I’m feeling because it’s all about the moment and the same relates to my music. It’s all about how I feel.

We love your new song “All The Way” directed by Elliot Simpson. Was making a music video harder work than expected?
Making a music video was definitely hard work especially being that it involved acting, becoming this badass little character lol. I’m very hands on with what I want and what I do. It was a great experience for me and I enjoyed the whole process.

How did you end up working with Chip aka Chipmunk?
We are all in the same circle of friends, we work with the same producers and they thought it would be a good idea to feat Chip on the track. We then sent the track over to Chip, he loved it and jumped on it.

Who is your weird celeb crush?
I don’t really fancy and celebs but I do think “Justin Bieber” is kinda cute

What is the best piece of advice you’ve been given and who by?
The best piece of advice I have been given would be to stay true to who I am as an artist. In this industry I feel like people can get lost so easily. I have a great team and family around me to make sure I’m OK. I’m very independent but having a team that challenge me and bring out the best in me is amazing.

Which other artist do you think will make it big this year?
I’m feeling Tink at the moment. I like the vibe of her music

What can we expect from you this year?
This year I’m going to show people everything I have dedicated my life to and worked so hard for. I want people to know who I am and to inspire people with my music. I would love more than anything for the world to join me on my journey… starting with your team at MARKMEETS.
