Riva Featured Artist for September 2014

Having promoted some of today’s best known and hottest music acts from when they began their journey, we’re pleased to showcase the amazing talent of solo star: RIVA

Her inspiration comes from artists such as Stevie Nicks, Tracy Chapman, Dusty Springfield and Amy Winehouse. Riva studied music at the Academy of Contemporary Music.

The blonde stunning starlet recently shared her dulcet tones as she joined the hot line up of acts including of Neon Jungle, Chase and Status, Ellie Goulding and Tinie Temper at The Sundown Festival in Norfolk on August 31st.

Musician Riva beats hundreds of other young hopefuls for a chance to perform and land a recording contract at Abbey Road studios.

We spent 15 mins chatting with the rising star recently and here is what we told us in an exclusive interview:

Where was the last gig you did and how did it go?
My last gigs were on American cruise ships. It was amazing to combine my love of singing and foreign travel . I got to see some incredible places and have made life long friends with people from all over the world. Since returning to the UK I have been concentrating on my song writing and recording my first EP at Abbey Road Studios following my success as the winning artist in a competition to be signed and to record songs written by producer and guitarist Tom Misner.

What are you most scared off?
Scary Movies really scare me! I would never watch one alone and they give me nightmares, I am also scared of sharks and big spiders.

What is your favourite sandwich filling?
honey, I have a very sweet tooth, honey is great for the voice too!

Who is your weird celeb crush?
It would have to be Russell Brand, because he really makes me laugh, and he is so passionate and inteligent.

Which other artists do you think will make it big this year?
I think Gio is one to watch, I love his voice and he is an super talented Musician, I recorded with him Abby road, he has a raw talent and is a great guy.

Would you ever do celebrity big brother?
I love celebrity big brother, I am generally a private person but I’m sure It would be a great experience, so maybe!

What was the first single you ever bought?
Britney Spears – One more time.

Can you tell us what you have coming up next?
I am so excited to be performing on the Sundown music festival main stage on the 31st August, I will be performing with Tom Misner and Boy Georges guitarist and musical director john Themis. I will be joining the line up with Ellie goulding, John newman, Ella Eyre and Clean bandit. I am also very honored to be performing with the famous pianist savant Derek Paravicini at a charity event on the 8th November in aid of the Rainbow Centre for children with cerebral palsy, I have performed with Derek before and I know it will be a night to remember.

Riva is currently in the process of recording her EP at the famous Abbey Road Studios working alongside producer and guitarist Tom Misner, who wanted an earthy, organic singer-songwriter to be the voice if his songs, and Riva’s pop/soul style fit the bill perfectly.

Riva is still on the rise and we know she has alot more planned this year too!

She has a unique, powerful, soulful tone with a depth and power that touches people’s soul.
