Cameron Diaz’s Approach to Beauty and Aging Is Surprising (And Refreshing)
Yes, the multi-millionaire retired actress has a natural beauty and having worked with the best in fashion, make-up for decades – it’s no wonder how the 49 year-old star is always so radiant.
Since stepping back from acting, Cameron Diaz says she is now less focused on her appearance.
“I don’t care.” she said. “Literally, the last thing I think about on a daily basis, like maybe not at all during the day, is what I look like.”
Diaz, who turns 50 in August, said the focus on beauty in the entertainment industry felt toxic.
“You just start to pick yourself apart,” she said.
But her current attitude is more relaxed. Diaz joked she barely washes her face despite having “a billion products” in her home.
“Twice a month if I’m lucky, I’ll be like, ‘Oh, I better put this on. One time works, right?'” she said. “Is that all I have to do? I’m just not in that place right now like where I put any energy (into worrying about it).”
And she’s not judging those who are into it.
“Again, I just go back to the trap of it all, especially in our society like what we value, what we think is important,” Diaz said. “Look, if it’s important to you, that’s fine.”
“I’m absolutely a victim to all of the societal objections and exploitations that women are subjected to,” she revealedI have bought into all of them. It’s hard not to look at yourself and judge yourself against other markers of beauty.”
Removing herself from the spotlight, however, has helped her on her journey towards self-acceptance. “The last thing I think about on a daily basis, maybe not at all during the day, is what I look like,” she muses. It’s a refreshing departure from her life as an actor, where she would spend hours in front of the mirror in hair and makeup “picking [her]self apart.”
Diaz, who began her career as a model and starred in multiple hit movies like “There’s Something About Mary · Being John Malkovich · Shrek · Things You Can Tell Just by Looking at Her · Gangs of New York · The Holiday · The Counselor · Vanilla Sky.” is also a successful author and businesswoman.
Diaz wants to channel her energies into feeling strong, fit and full of energy for her daughter. “I want to feel vital for my child,” she says. “I want to be the mum that runs around. I want my energy to stay vital.”
As of 2022, Cameron Diaz‘s net worth is estimated to be roughly $140 million.
Cameron Diaz told MarkMeets.com back in 2019 that she can’t imagine returning to acting.
