Pretty Little Liars is an American teen drama mystery–thriller television series loosely based on the popular book series of the same title, written by Sara Shepard premiering in the US back in 2010.
We come bearing not the best of news for Pretty Little Liars fans: the hit show has a limited lifespan.
After six seasons, PLL creator Marlene King says number seven will be the last. In an interview with Variety, she shared her thoughts on why:
“I think that this story when we’re back will end next year at the at end of Season 7,” she said. When asked specifically, “So you definitely want it to end at the end of Season 7, and don’t want it to go beyond that?” she replied: “Correct.”
Can’t get much clearer than that though she explained on Twitter that she was referring to a specific storyline coming to an end — not the series — by posting, “This Uber A story that starts on January 12 will end when season 7 ends. I did not say PLL will end. Just sayin 4 real.” As stated in the original story, ABC Family confirms no decisions have been made for plans past Season 7..
