Here’s why JJ Abrams wants you to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens in Imax
In a marketing coup, the guys at Imax have managed to get Star Wars director JJ Abrams, plus loads of cast members, to big up their big screens.
OK, so it didn’t take much to convince JJ Abrams to plug Imax. He clearly loves those building-sized curvy screens, and says that shooting with Imax cameras will allow Star Wars fans to ”get to experience a sequence in a way that they haven’t before”.
Meanwhile, young stars like John Boyega and Daisy Ridley could barely contain their excitement during the scenes being filmed giant on Imax cameras. Here they are in all their enthusiastic glory.
MarkMeets were told: Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released across our various cutting-edge projection technologies including our xenon digital system, IMAX 15/70mm film and our next-generation laser system. Lucasfilm and visionary director J.J. Abrams join forces to take you back again to a galaxy far, far away as Star Wars returns to the big screen with Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
