John Cena made a sensational return to WWE in London this weekend at teased the idea of WrestleMania in the UK.

The 16-time world champion has been busy filming in the capital and so he had to pop by as the company put on a huge show at The O2 on Saturday night.

Midway through the show, Cena’s music hit and the crowd jumped to their feet in shock and awe as he made his way down to the ring to address the crowd and lay the groundwork for a monumental show.

‘In my mind, there is not a more exciting audience than the audience in the United Kingdom. So, I’m here to try to bring WrestleMania to London,’ he said to an incredible ovation, adding: ‘I struck a nerve on that one, didn’t I?’

Cena – who most recently appeared in a WWE ring at WrestleMania in Hollywood earlier this year – pointed out it is down to the decision makers, but it was rising star Grayson Waller who came out to interrupt him and rubbish the whole idea.

The Australian star suggested his homeland was a much better fit, although it was hard for people to hear him as loud, four letter word chants rained down on him.

He ranted: ‘WrestleMania in England? You’ve got to be kidding me man… it should go somewhere beautiful with nice weather, beaches, good looking girls in bikinis… somewhere like Australia.’

Fans loudly called on Cena to ‘eff him up’ – although not quite that politely – and the wrestling legend turned Hollywood heavyweight was happy to oblige, laying out the loudmouthed star with his Attitude Adjustment move.

WWE boss Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque played down the idea of an immediate announcement at a press conference after the show, but fans have been given plenty of hope by Cena’s passionate plea.

WrestleMania has never been held outside North America, with the vast majority taking place in the US, while the UK fanbase has been clamouring for a show of that scale.

Clash At The Castle in Cardiff last year was seen by many as a proving ground for the UK, and Money In The Bank this weekend marked the first major premium live event to be held in London for 21 years.

Roman Reigns suffered his first pinfall loss since December 2019 on an incredible night at WWE Money In The Bank.

The Tribal Chief teamed with his cousin Solo Sikoa but fell to the latter’s brothers Jimmy and Jey Uso in a huge main event in front of a molten crowd at The O2 in London on an evening full of surprises.

The image of Roman on the losing side as the show went off the air was certainly a major talking point, with his historic world championship run potentially in real jeopardy with The Usos now standing against him.

There were plenty of twists and turns during the bout itself, and the 18,000 fans in The O2 were hanging onto every move and nearfall.

From the very first match, the atmosphere was electric with LA Knight coming out to a raucous response as the men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match opened the show, while Logan Paul was subjected to some X-rated chants.

n the end, Damian Priest scored the win to the dismay of the crowd, although in a press conference after the show, WWE boss Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque teased that good things come to those who wait.

Shayna Baszler turned on Ronda Rousey, essentially handing the Women’s Tag Team Championships to Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez after an entertaining bout.

It means the gold is back with the team that were only forced to give them up due to Liv’s unfortunate injury, and Shayna’s betrayal sets her and Ronda up for an exciting rivalry with her real life friend.

GUNTHER made relatively easy work of Matt Riddle to retain the Intercontinental Title, but the real drama came after the bell when Drew McIntyre make a shock return and laid him out with a Claymore.

Dominik Mysterio and Cody Rhodes were at polar opposites in terms of crowd reaction, and the atmosphere lifted this to make for a fun match, with the American Nightmare getting the win.

John Cena made a rare WWE appearance and called for a WrestleMania in London, before rising star Grayson Waller interrupted, trying to hold his own as the crowd tore into him before he got laid out with an Attitude Adjustment.

Iyo Sky won the Women’s Money In The Bank in an incredibly creative way, handcuffing both Becky Lynch and Bayley to each other through the ladder.

Everyone involved delivered in spades here, and seeing Sky get the win lays the groundwork for an interesting summer for Damage CTRL.

In the penultimate match, Seth Rollins overcame Finn Balor in another high class match, as you’d expect between these two, with the tease of a cash in from Damian Priest adding plenty of drama.
