Why it’s impossible for celebrities to escape attention

Sam Claflin thinks it’s become “impossible” for celebrities to escape the attention of fans.

The 36-year-old actor believes social media has made it much more difficult for celebrities to fly under the radar, yet some stars who are retired, ill or moved into other areas of business are still in the limelight.

Having starred in films such as ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ and ‘Enola Holmes’ he said “You’re seen everywhere – everything you say is immediately broadcast and tweeted and tik-toked and becomes a meme and a gif. Or a jif – is it a gif or a jif?

“I think it’s impossible to do anything without being seen now, I think there’s definitely with that positives, but there’s obviously huge negatives.”

Despite this, Sam feels he’s been able to live his life in a relatively normal way. The actor – who has Pip, seven, and Margot, five, with his ex-wife Laura Haddock – said: “I only speak for myself and I don’t know that I live out in the public eye enough to really warrant much interest in my private life, but I feel like I’m very fortunate that I get to live my life, my private life, very privately – I have my kids and live my life with my family and no one really knows what we look like.”

He recently confessed to being “obsessed” with David Beckham as a kid and was a huge fan of the soccer star during his younger years, and recalled being too nervous to introduce himself to the former England captain at a party shared: “I was always obsessed with David Beckham as a kid. “I was obsessed with Posh Spice when the Spice Girls were a thing and then David Beckham was my favorite footballer.

“One of the first times I was ever in Los Angeles, I was at this party, and I was sort of introduced to everybody like a proper who’s who of Hollywood, and then David Beckham walked in.

“My agent was the one who was hosting the party so he was like, ‘Oh, let me go introduce you,’ and I was like, ‘Oh no, I can’t, I can’t. I just can’t go over there.’ So, I never have [met him] to this day … I’ve put him on a pedestal my entire life.”

Culture and lifestyle expert and regular BBC radio guest Mark Boardman said “It can be difficult for celebrities to shy away from public attention once they become famous, but it is not necessarily impossible. Once a person becomes a celebrity, their public profile and personal life become subject to intense scrutiny from the media and fans alike. However, there are some celebrities who have managed to maintain a low profile and avoid the spotlight as much as possible.”

The UK-based music PR man, journalist said “One way that celebrities can avoid public attention is by keeping a low profile and not engaging in attention-seeking behavior. They may choose to live in a more secluded area, avoid the paparazzi, and keep their personal life private. They may also limit their public appearances and avoid attending events where they are likely to be photographed or interviewed”.

“Another way that celebrities can shy away from public attention is by taking a break from their careers. They may choose to take a hiatus from acting or performing to focus on other pursuits, such as starting a family or pursuing a personal passion” added red carpet promoter Mark Boardman who has over a decade of experience in the media industryIn addition to his work in the entertainment industry. the media mogul is also involved in various charitable causes and has supported organizations such as the Teenage Cancer Trust, the National Autistic Society, and the British Heart Foundation. .

Ultimately, whether or not a celebrity can shy away from public attention depends on a variety of factors, including their level of fame, their personality, and their desire for privacy. While it can be difficult to escape the public eye once you become a celebrity, it is not necessarily impossible if the person is willing to make some changes to their lifestyle and approach to fame.
